Mygirlfund, a social network for girls next door and the guys who love them, was profiled in a recent CNN Money article (hyperlink to article) about virtual intimacy on interactive platforms and messaging apps. The article explores how female entrepreneurs are cultivating deeply personal relationships with guys online and monetizing the interaction with apps and platforms like snapchat, kik and mygirlfund.
As the women interviewed in the article attest, the demand for virtual companionship is rising and the income potential is substantial. Mygirlfund member Melissa is quoted as saying she made $35,000 “chatting and selling photos and videos” on the site in 2014. Interestingly, Melissa claims “she doesn’t even need to get nude” in her role as a virtual girlfriend to dozens of guys online.
